Obituary of Christine Cabaj

CABAJ, Christine July 24, 1923 – September 13, 2012 On Thursday, September 13, 2012 Christine Cabaj of Bonnyville passed away peacefully at the age of 89. Christine was born in Poland, immigrated to Canada at the age of 3. She was a prominent member of the Alexander community near Ardmore, AB during her childhood and most of her adult life. Christine will be lovingly remembered by her children; Stanley (Lisa) Cabay, John (Cheryl) Cabaj, Florence (Jim) Pelta; daughter in law, Lorriane Cabaj; 14 grandchildren Dennis (Lea) Hodinsky, Mark (Leann) Cabaj, Paul (Adriana) Cabaj, Karol (Marc) Martin, Angela (Paul) Plaquin, Michelle (Eric) Whitehead, Matthew Cabaj, Melanie (Zalman) Weiss, Debbie (Jason) Hatch, Ken (Lisa) Lister, Jason (Megan) Cabaj, Stacey Cabaj, Curtis (April) Pelta and Simon Pelta and 27 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Leo, children Ted, Lillian, Leonira, and Emily, granddaughter Cheryl, and her sisters; Josephine Szpojankowski, Leokadia Szydlik and Helena Strzepek. A prayer vigil was held on Sunday, September 16, 2012 @ 7:30 p.m. at the St. Louis Roman Catholic Church, Bonnyville. Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, September 17, 2012 @ 10:30 a.m. at St. Louis Roman Catholic Church, Bonnyville, AB. Interment followed at St. Peter & St. Paul Cemetery, Alexander, Alberta.
