HANLEY, Ronald “Ron”
July 12, 1949 ~ April 24, 2025
On Thursday, April 24th, Ronald Everette Hanley (Hoss) was taken from us far too soon at the tender age of 75 years.
Ron passed away suddenly at the Cold Lake Healthcare Centre with his loving wife of 42 years, his proud loving daughter and his only son by his side.
Ron was 1 of 6 sons born to an amazing loving mom whom Ron lost at the very young age of 13, he always missed her dearly. He spent his younger days tending to the family horses, building breaks, waters and roads. He was born in a small house in Milton Nova Scotia. Soon after in life Ron moved to the West and had a brief career which he loved at Guthrie Mclaren Rig #7, where he was a derrick hand.
Ron had fond memories and loved to dip kyack fish on the Medway River (Bear Falls) with his children and their trusty black dog, Blacky who was always by their side. He loved to smoke the kyack fish and took pride in the “nice smoke” he had going on while he was doing that. Ron also enjoyed doing auto body work and building stock cars to race at the track. Dad will be greatly missed. Our forever best friend, eternally in our hearts Dad, it’s not good bye, it’s just so long dad (daddy dear). He loved all his grandchildren and they loved him very much. Caring, comforting and strong are a few of the words that describe the grandfather he was. Although he is not here physically anymore, we know he is watching over us from above. To be together again in good health, we love you grampy and miss you with all of our hearts.
Ron spent his last few days on this earth celebrating Easter with his wife, daughter, granddaughter Lana, son-in-law, and 2 grandsons who meant everything to him. He loved to play trucks with his Ryatt and cuddle and make Rylan (Ronnie) laugh and giggle. These past few years we have grown closer which makes it so much harder to say good bye dad you were my best friends, my supporter and my everything...safe travels we love you dad (the gummie guy). Mom says you were her soul mate and the love of her life. You were a devoted husband and father...she says see you in Heaven my love I love you.
Ron is loving survived by his wife of 42 years: Heather; children: Rhonda (Danny), Terri (Dwayne), Irene “Renee” (Kane), Lloyd (Kristie); grandchildren: Caleb, Alexis, Alana, Ryatt, Rylan, Lucas, Thomas, Oliver, Megan “Magpie” Jacob “Jake the Snake”, Julieanna, Ethan; great grandchildren: Arianna, Roman, Eli; brothers: Gregory (Linda), Jordan (Karen), Theodore (Cindy), Gerald “Tom” (Diane); nieces & nephews: Tommy, Dwayne, Stacey, Marcey, Jody, Chris, Corey, Becky, Katie, Lacey, Justin; as well as numerous extended relatives and friends.
Ron was predeceased by his parents: Everette & Irene Hanley; granddaughter: Baby Heather; grandson: Kenny; brother: Bernard; niece: Janice.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebrations of Ron’s Life will be held at a later date.
